Why We Evolved
HP Home Design was founded in 2022 with a focus on architectural design. However, we quickly noticed a recurring problem in the local industry: the "gap" between the blueprints and the builder.
Too often, we saw great designs compromised on site, not out of malice, but because of a disconnect between the design intent and the construction execution.
We realized that to guarantee a quality result, we had to take responsibility for the build.
Today, we have evolved into a design and construction management firm. We don't just draw the plans; we manage the construction. This allows us to protect your budget and your vision, ensuring that the home you designed is the home you actually get.

Meet Rob Fleury | Principal
Rob Fleury is the founder, owner, and sole designer at HP Home Design. Every project is his own work from first sketch to final drawing. The person you meet at the start is the person who designs your house and takes responsibility for the drawings your builder works from.
Rob designs custom homes for people who want something built for them specifically, not adapted from a plan that already exists. Every project begins with the site, the light, the way a family actually moves through a house, and what the northern climate is going to demand of it.
That design work is backed by over 22 years in residential design and construction. Rob is an Architectural Technologist (M.A.A.T.O.), a Certified Passive House Designer, and BCIN qualified, and he has spent enough time on site to know that a line on a drawing represents real labour and real cost.
The building science knowledge gets applied practically rather than academically.
On a conventional build, it means a house that is airtight, durable, and free of the usual problems: moisture, mould, cold rooms, and the details that quietly fail a few winters in.
On a high-performance build, it means the technical certification to model and deliver a fully certified Passive House.
Good design and technical rigour are not separate tasks. Rob carries a project from concept through to a fully coordinated set of drawings, so the idea that made the house worth building survives into what actually gets constructed.

HP Home Design provides custom home design, design-build, and construction management services across Sudbury, Ontario including Hanmer, Val Caron, Garson, Capreol, Chelmsford, Azilda and other local communities. Design-only services including Passive House, high-performance home design, are available to clients anywhere in Ontario.
